Ruegg Family

Meet the Ruegg family!  I recently met with this family while in Missouri for a little family photo shoot.  Emily Ruegg and I were roommates during college (ah, the memories!) and it was great to catch up with her and spend time with her husband (who reminds me a lot of John Corbett, seriously) and her two beautiful sons.  Thank you Ruegg family for a great day!  It was so nice to see you all!

Such sweet faces, they look so peaceful!
They were a playful bunch
I just love these facial expressions!

Waters Family

A couple weekends ago I had a lovely photo shoot with the JB, Amanda and Judson Waters.  I have photographed this family several times before when Judson was just a newborn.  I love the Waters family!  They are former neighbors of mine and Kyle.  I have really missed our impromptu hang-out time (that consisted of a surprise knock on the door in the evening and then hanging out in pajamas most of the time) since they moved to South Carolina.  So, when Amanda told me they would be in Louisville and they wanted to have family photos taken, I was really excited!  We love you guys!  Can't wait until you all make your next trip this way!

It was such a beautiful afternoon.  I love the light in these photos!
Having fun with Daddy...
We also took a few photos of Judson since he just turned a year old.  Happy birthday, little man!
Photo shoots are tough stuff!  He still looks so sweet though, even when he has tears rolling down his cheeks!

Patrick and Brooke

Patrick and Brooke got married a little over a month ago in a charming little Southern Indiana town, close to Louisville.  (Brooke is a former student of mine, which made this day even more fun to be a part of.)  The wedding was originally supposed to take place in the back yard of Patrick's grandparents' home, but the weather did not cooperate.  Despite the gloomy weather - it was still a beautiufl wedding.  Brooke was such a pretty bride, I mean absolutely stunning bride!  And Patrick was such a sweet, caring groom.

These two truly love each other and it was a blessing to be a part of their special day.

Many thanks also go out to Julia Black, who helped me as my awesome second shooter for the day.

The girls all got ready at Patrick's grandparents' house.  I love the photo of Brooke peaking out the window when she found out Patrick had arrived.  Hey, all that matters is that Patrick didn't see Brooke before the wedding, right?
Seriously beautiful.
We had some bow tie issues....
LOVE the suspenders!
Brooke's brother walked her down the aisle.  Here are the two waiting for the ceremony to start.
I love that in the photo on the left you can see both of Brooke's brothers and Patrick.  This was a really sweet moment to witness.
Hooray!  They are married!
More celebrating directly after the ceremony.  Don't you love how the MOH is gazing at lovely bride?
Couldn't help but add these sweet photos of Brooke and her mother.
Adorable kids!
They got married on September 10th, get it?
Such a sweet couple....
The garter toss...
The first dance!  Congratulations Patrick and Brooke on the start to a lovely marriage!

Fall Time!

Hello again from another long blog hiatus!  What can I say?  Things have been wild around the Meadows household these days.  Anyway, I can't wait to share these lovely fall family photos with all of you!  You may remember this family from past blog posts such as this post.  The Stewart family is ADORABLE.  Who can resist those beautiful blue/green eyes that the whole family is blessed with?  Plus, I have a lot of fun with family, partly because they are fun, also because they are my friends.  Anyway, we had a terrific photo shoot a couple weekends ago.  Thank you Jessica, Shane, Lydia and Jonathon for a fun day!  Check out the pics!

And......keep a watch out for my next post on my very first wedding that I photographed with much help from Julia Black.  Yay!

Jessica made her daughter's skirt just for this photo shoot.  It fit in perfectly with the scenery.
My favorite part about the photo on the left - I can see Jonathon's freckles on his nose.  So cute!
I loved the sunflowers we used for this photo shoot!  Great idea from Jessica Stewart!  I love creative clients!
Sweet brother and sister!  And check out Lydia's skirt!  Ahhh!  So cute!
We were also able to snag a few photos of the happy couple....
Thank you again Stewart family!  You guys are beautiful!

Ashley and Evy

Meet Ashley and Evy, two very beautiful girls I had the honor of capturing with my camera recently.  And not only are these two beautiful, they were also a blast to spend time with.  Evy is a big Disney fan, which I totally love.  I mean, I'm the girl that drew pictures and wrote letters to Mickey Mouse as a kid....  And my father may still have Steamboat Willy memorized by heart because I wanted to watch the movie so frequently.  So, you could say Evy was a girl after my own heart.  She showed me how to fly like Peter Pan, she told me about the Princess Parties at Disney World and at the end of the shoot, we had fun shouting out the names of our favorite Disney characters.  And Ashley is a fellow photographer and homemaker (AND she is a fantastic interior decorator).  If I lived in Missouri, I would love to meet with this lady over coffee (or in my case - hot tea, not a coffee drinker) to talk kiddos, photos and hope some of her awesome decorating skills would rub off on me!

Ashley and Evy live in Southeast Missouri, which is where our photo shoot took place.  (Thank you Teegarden family for lending us your field for the morning!)  Ashley and her husband, Kurt, are currently on the journey to adopt a little boy, Liam (they have such great taste in names), from South Korea.  Hopefully, their little boy will be home in September!  If you are interested in learning more about this family's adoption journey, visit Our Adoption Tapestry.

FYI - I did not photo shop those blue/green eyes.  Crazy, right?
Little Evy knew just when to ham it up for the camera!  She was so sweet!
I love these yellow chair pictures with Evy.
She was modeling for us in the bottom photo.  Love. it.  Oh, I was thought I would try out some vintage editing with that pic, whaddaya think?
Dimples!
We even snagged a few photos of Ashley for her blog.  This girl should be a model!

Thank you Ashley and Evy for a fun morning!

Thomas+Marvin Finn Birds=BFFs

A couple weeks ago I met Thomas and his sweet momma, Ashley, at the Marvin Finn Sculpture Park in downtown Louisville.  Thomas is one of my son's besties, and since I know Thomas' personality pretty well I thought the sculpture park would be the perfect spot for our little photo shoot.  And....I was right!  He loved all the birds, and made sure to greet each one and attempt to feed them his crackers.  You just gotta love toddlers.  Anyway, here are some photos from that afternoon.

In typical toddler fashion, Thomas attempted to climb several of the sculptures.
He really loved the duck with multiple heads.  What a goof!

After our fun with the birds, we ventured down to the river front and stopped under this bridge for a few shots.  I love the industrial background.

I love these black and whites under the bridge.  P.S. - Can you tell that crackers were an important part of this photo shoot?

Thanks Thomas for being such a good sport!  You always know how to put a smile on my face!
